Catholic Relief Services (Pakistan) — Health program evaluation in Afghan refugee camps (basic health education and sanitation); grant-writing.

Children's Village (NY) — Institutional development including prospect research and grant-writing.

Columbia University Center for Population and Family Health (NY) — Training of primary health care workers; encyclopedia: planning, selection of contributors, editing & writing.

CTE, Inc., (Stamford, CT) — Fundraising plan; identification of potential donors; case statement; preparation of corporate, private and federal government grants.

Downstate Medical Center (Brooklyn, NY) — Communications training for midwives and nurses.

Ford Foundation (Ghana) — Management training for nursing staff, consultation with Ghana national family planning program at Ministry of Finance, evaluation of training materials.

Government of Madagascar, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries — Assist the Land O'Lakes International Division team and the Ministry to design a five-year Master Plan for Rural Development.

Hastings Center (NY) — Research on ethics and values in international health programming; research on population and maternal and child health relationships.

Institute for Development Training (NY) — Fundraising; grant-writing; board development; program development; staff management; training health workers in curriculum development; video production and marketing, working in Liberia, Cameroon, Nigeria, Kenya and Tanzania.


International Planned Parenthood Federation (NY, Haiti) — See APHA, above. Also, Program evaluation in training of health workers and information/education/communications program.

Intergovernmental Renewable Energy Organization (IREO) — Assisted IREO in preparing its application for associate status to the UN Department of Public Information.

Margaret Sanger Center (NY) — Training of Ecuadorean doctors and nurses in primary health care planning and management (for UN Population Fund).


MDG Awards Committee (NY) — Responsible for developing the MDG Awards Selection Process that will culminate in the MDG Awards Festival and Telecast, (anticipated September 12, 2008).

North Carolina Fund (Durham, NC) — Training of VISTA volunteers in rural development and work with migrants.

North Carolina State Board of Health (Raleigh, NC) — Training development and implementation for staff of health and welfare agencies and community action programs.

Population Council (NY) — Program management and oversight in Tunisia, including operations research; training of rural home visitors; preparation of federal government reports and grant submissions.

Public-Private Alliance Foundation (NY) — Organizational and program management in relation to policy development and pro-poor business; liaison with United Nations System. Madagascar, Dominican Republic and other developing countries. 


Ronco Consulting Corporation (DC) — Curriculum development with medical, nursing and social work schools; management of consultants; management training for regional program managers, including communications methods.

United Nations (NY) — Department of Economic and Social Affairs — Research, writing, negotiations.

United Nations Association of the USA, Westchester Chapter (NY) — Chapter management; establishment of systems; development of the Going Global with the UN Series of 60 1/2 hour videos; contributing editor to two supplements of The Journal News ("Peace Makes the World a Better Place" and "Shaping Global Citizens: The United Nations Millennium Development Goals: Poverty and Hunger."

UN High Commission for Refugees (Pakistan) — Co-author of a technical manual for organization of health services with Afghan refugees, published by UNHCR, Pakistan and the Chief Commissionerate for Refugees, Government of Pakistan, 1986. 


UN Office of the Special Adviser for Africa — Preparation of a paper on Human Security in Africa.

UN Population Fund (NY) — Program evaluation and development, including writing of a country's five-year plan.

US Agency for International Development (Pakistan) — National training program evaluation including assessment of training materials (readability, etc.); grant-writing.

US Department of State (Pakistan) — Refugee health program evaluation


University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – Medical School, Carolina Population Center and School of Public Health — Federal, state and foundation grant-writing; consultative committee / technical committee development; consortium-building; training of health professionals; mentoring of masters' degree students and internship development and supervision; selection and management of consultants; management consultant in 9 southeastern states of the U.S., teaching in federal grant preparation.

Westinghouse Learning Corporation (MD) — Research and writing on health services for teens, mobile training teams and mobile clinics, and use of outreach workers.
